Welcome to Collin College's Honors Institute

The Honors Institute at Collin College offers qualified students (those students with a 3.5 GPA or higher) an enhanced academic experience during their time on our campus, solid preparation for transfer to four-year and/or graduate programs, and several benefits in recognition of their academic achievements.

You may enroll in Honors courses without being in the Honors program, but if you are interested in applying to the Honors program click the button below.  Honors scholars will have additional benefits and if you complete the program, you will receive a certificate of completion and have special regalia at graduation. Benefits of taking Honors courses include:

  • First Day registration privileges
  • Smaller class sizes
  • Honors class will have an honors designation next to it on the student's transcript
  • Articulation agreements with Honors programs at several local Universities
  • Free printing, blue books, and scantrons for honors students enrolled in honors courses
